The NSC/Marin and Kloska Group recently donated to the Mapua-PTC College of Maritime Education and Training (CMET) a DMV-SULZER 5 RTA 58 diesel engine, an actual-sized piston, and piston rod for a MAN 60/105 engine to form part of the CMET's NSC-Marin Engineering Laboratory.

These donated items serve to provide an actual shipboard training environment for cadets pursuing CMET's BS Marine Engineering program. In addition, the existence of an authentic diesel engine model and its related parts exceeds the mandatory minimum standard requirements for a BS Marine Engineering program prescribed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

CMET represents an industry-academic linkage between Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. (PTC) and the Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL). This partnership is aimed at further developing globally competitive Filipino maritime professionals, equipped with a solid background in marine transportation and marine engineering enhanced by quality hands-on training to meet industry standards of competence.

PTC has also successfully partnered with NSC/Marin over the last four years, providing total crew management solutions based on its business philosophy of establishing "partnerships of equal interests" with all its principals.

This recent donation of CMET is symbolic of NSC/Marin's commitment to championing continuous quality education. NSC/Marin's business maxim is embodied in its close relationship and steadfast co-operation with its network of clients and investors worldwide.
